The 'Butcher from Bilbao' Goikoetxea played the full match at the heart of the defence. The defeat mattered little in the end as all the side had to do was beat Malta in the final round of fixtures for a place at the Finals in France and they duly obliged winning 12-1 to qualify at the expense of Holland. The Athletic Club star had made his international debut in this year and only two months before this game had earned notoriety for a brutal foul that broke Diego Maradona's ankle.

Correct player size flock print professionally heat pressed, machine stitched crest and fully embroidered Adidas logo, made from 72% polyester and 28% acetate with a fleece lining, design not commercially available, swapped with a Holland player and comes from their collection - a signed letter verifying this can be provided.
