Mexico travelled to Europe in August '84 for a series of 6 friendly matches as they began to prepare for hosting the next World Cup in '86.
This was the third game of the campaign and Mexico notched up their first win after being held by Ireland and East Germany. Here they cruised to a 3-0 victory thanks to goals from Aguirre, Hernández and Arias in their third ever meeting with Finland. Muñoz played the full match and was a stalwart of the side during the 80's featuring at the 1986 World Cup and making 56 appearances in his international career.
