Ireland 1987 player shirt by Adidas believed to have been issued to O'Brien for the friendly match against Brazil played at Lansdowne Road, Dublin on the 23rd May 1987.
The match proved to be one to remember for all time for Ireland. The last time the two sides met Brazil handed out a 7-0 hammering in Uberlândia but here they were shocked by Jack Charlton's men who grabbed a famous win thanks to a beautiful goal by legend Liam Brady.
O'Brien wore a long sleeved shirt in the match which was his only his second senior appearance and this is believed to be his short sleeve spare from the game. This superb design shirt was the first to feature the new FA Ireland crest and was only worn in 7 matches during the calendar year of 1987.
