Holland 1988 player shirt by Adidas believed to have been issued for the friendly match against England played at Wembley on the 23rd March 1988.
The match was a warm-up for Euro 88 where the two sides would go head to head again in the group stage.
Lineker scored the opener after just 13 minutes but a Tony Adams own goal let the Dutch back into it and soon after they went ahead through John Bosman, Adams redeemed himself in the second half though and the game ended 2-2 with both teams positive about playing each other in Germany. Although come June there would be only one winner of course. Rinus Michels used two substitutes in this game, Koot who wore #12 and Krüzen #14, the two unused outfield substitutes were Peter Bosz and Wim Kieft so the shirt is thought to have belonged to one of them. Holland switched to the legendary geometric pattern design home shirt for the Euro's before returning to this shirt for the start of their Italia '90 qualification campaign.
