Northern Ireland 1988 player shirt by Adidas believed to have been issued for the 1990 World Cup Qualification Group 6 match against Ireland played at Windsor Park, Belfast on the 14th September '88.
This was the first meeting of the two sides since 1979 and it was an eagerly anticipated clash with no clear favourite with Northern Ireland having qualifying for the last World Cup and the Republic for Euro 88.
And there was little to choose between the teams on the night with the game ending in a 0-0 stalemate. This #16 shirt belonged to an unused substitute, boss Billy Bingham made only one change in the match bringing on #13 Anton Rogan at half-time.
