Adidas 1989 Malta Match Issue Home Shirt Suda

Malta 1989 player shirt by Adidas believed to have been issued to Suda for the 1990 World Cup Qualification Group 6 match against Ireland played at Lansdowne Road, Dublin on the 28th May '89.

Malta had two matches left to play and they were both against Ireland who were chasing a place at their first World Cup Final's.

The side were not able to provide a stumbling block here as the hosts ran out 2-0 winners with goals from Houghton and Moran. Suda was an unused substitute on the day but went on to win 70 caps and score 8 goals for his country. This was the last competitive outing of this classic Adidas kit with Umbro taking over the reverse fixture played in Attard in November.
