Adidas 1989 Soviet Union Match Issue Home Shirt

Soviet Union 1989 player shirt by Adidas believed to have been issued to or worn by a #14 during 1989 when the side earnt qualification to the 1990 World Cup in Italy after winning a group containing Austria, Turkey, Iceland and political allies East Germany.

The tournament would be the last a Soviet team would compete in. Despite beating eventual quarter-finalists Cameroon 4-0 in the group stage, losses to Argentina and Romania condemned the Red Army to an early exit. The side qualified for Euro 1992 but competed as the CIS national football team after the break up of the Union in 1991.
