Adidas 1992 Spain Match Worn Home Shirt

Spain 1992 player shirt by Adidas believed to have been match worn by Goikoetxea in the 1994 World Cup Qualification Group 3 match against Ireland played at Estadio Benito Villamarín, Sevilla on the 18th November '92.

It was hard-fought encounter between the two favourites to qualify from the group. Spain edged the first half although John Alridge missed a gilt-edged chance but when Lopez was sent off just before the hour mark it made a draw not a bad result for the hosts.

The match finished in a 0-0 stalemate. Goikoetxea who played defence, midfield or forward during his Barca career played the full match operating mostly as a left back on the night. A star the club during the 'Dream Team' years Goikoetxea made 36 appearances for Spain. La Furia Roja would go on to win the group and seal a place at the 1994 World Cup.
