It was the same venue and the same soaring temperatures as the group match with Mexico when John Aldridge and Jack Charlton famously lost their cool. Phil Babb missed a late chance and McGrath had a last minute effort ruled out but Holland were deserved winners and had kept it conservative in the second half. The defeat ended a magical World Cup adventure that included the historic victory over Italy. Kelly had started the tournament as back-up for Denis Irwin but the Man Utd players suspension for the final group game gave him an opportunity that he seized. The Elland Road hero went on to make 51 appearances for Ireland, also representing them at the 2002 World Cup.

Correct player size flock print professionally heat pressed, embroidered crest with Corn an Domhain USA '94 detail, no Opel sponsor like on the commercial replica, made in Ireland, swapped with a Holland player and comes from their collection - a signed letter verifying this can be provided.
