Adidas 2000 Romania Match Worn European Championship Home Shirt

Romania 2000 player shirt by Adidas believed to have been match worn by Munteanu in the Euro 2000 Group A match against Germany played at Stade Maurice Dufrasne, Liège on the 12th June '00.

This was the opening match of the group and Romania quickly showed what they were all about by bursting into a 5th minute lead through striker Moldovan. The Tricolorii had the hosts on the ropes at times and despite Mehmet Scholl scoring a superb equaliser come full-time many were tipping them to be dark horses for the tournament.

With legendary captain Hagi the sorcerer and the experience of playing at the last three major international tournaments it should not have come as such a shock when Emeric Ienei's men went on to dump England out and progress to the Quarter Finals themselves. Munteanu was a veteran of all of those tournaments and played the full match here and every minute of the sides games in Belgium & Holland. Romania ran into a classy Italy outfit in the next round though and could not find a solution to the Azzurri who were in top form. Munteanu had made his international debut in 1991 and incredibly played on until 2007 amassing 134 caps to become the nation's record appearance holder.
