The Brazilian had previous in Serie A, spending two seasons at Bari 89-91, in fact he was actually still owned by them and was at the Stadio Via del Mare on loan just as he had been at Fenerbahce the two years before. He went on to be a near ever present for the Giallorossi this year but it was not a good year for the club. They finished bottom of the table with just 11 points.
