This was the Semi Final and the game was a thriller finishing 2-2 after 90 minutes meaning it had to be decided by a penalty shoot-out in which the hosts triumphed 5-4. Flu had last won the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A in 1970 and the Campeonato Carioca in '76 and had just lost legend Roberto Rivelino who moved to Saudi Arabia in the summer of '78, they did have international star defender Edinho though. The shirt is made by Athleta who manufactured the Brazil national team shirts from 1954-77 including at the 1970 World Cup.
