Italy 1992 player shirt by Diadora believed to have been issued to Di Chiara for the 1992 US Cup match against the Republic of Ireland played at Foxboro Stadium, Massachusetts on the 4th June '92.
This was the inaugural edition of the tournament which also USA and Portugal, Italy had drawn their opening game while Ireland had lost going into this repeat of the 1990 World Cup Quarter Final. This time it was Italy in white and Ireland in their home colours but the result of an Azzurri win was the same, this time 2-0 with goals from Signori and Costacurta. Di Chiara was an unused substitute for this game but did feature against USA and Portugal which was his international debut. The side would draw their final game with the hosts 1-1 though which handed the USA the trophy. Di Chiara kept his place in the squad for the 1994 World Cup qualification campaign representing Italy 7 times in total.
