Italy 1992 player shirt by Diadora believed to have been match worn by Baresi in the 1992 US Cup match against USA played at Soldier Field, Chicago on the 6th June '92.
This was the inaugural edition of the tournament which also featured Ireland and Portugal and was essentially the final given that both they and the USA had the best records from the first two games.
Things looked good when Roberto Baggio opened the scoring after just 2 minutes but the hosts struck back through John Harkes and the match ended in a 1-1 draw which handed the USA the trophy. Baresi was the captain and played the full game at the heart of the defence. The AC Milan icon would return to America two years later and skipper the Azzurri to the Final after which he retired with 81 appearances to his name and a reputation as one of the best defenders the game had ever seen.
