This is a very special Official Crewe Alexandra Club auction for a very special item of Sporting Heritage. The auction is for a genuine Chelsea FC player issue shirt dating from the 1970's
At first we were unsure as to the background and authenticity of the shirt, so we contacted Christie's of London who have both confirmed that the shirt is genuine, and have also given us an estimate as to the value of the shirt.
The shirt belongs to Dario Gradi, manager of Crewe Alexandra FC, and was given to him as a gift during his employment with Chelsea. We are auctioning it on behalf of him.

The shirt itself is remarkably good condition for its age. We have tried to capture the condition of the shirt in the pictures we have used in the listing.
Having had the item valued by professionals, we have set the reserve for the auction based on their estimation. We have confirmation of this which is available to view in the Club Shop at the ground. The reserve price will not be revealed, nor will we accept any offers on the shirt to end the auction early.
