Ebay : England World Cup 1970 Umbro football shirt

This is a very special Official Crewe Alexandra Club Auction for a very special item of Sporting Heritage. The auction is for a genuine Authentic England World Cup 1970 Mexico Players Shirt, which we are led to believe belonged to Jack (John) Charlton and was his spare shirt for the tournament.

At first we were unsure as to the background and authenticity of the shirt, so we contacted Christie's of London who have both confirmed that the shirt is genuine, and have also given us an estimate as to the value of the shirt.

The shirt belongs to Dario Gradi, manager of Crewe Alexandra FC, and was given to him as a gift when he worked for the English FA. We are auctioning it on behalf of him. The shirt itself is very old and in a very tired state. We have tried to capture the condition of the shirt in the pictures we have used in the listing. It has a fair few marks and holes in the material as you might expect of a shirt of this age.

However it would be ideal for framing as this would protect the shirt from any further wear and tear. It looks as though it has been worn at some point as the fabric is quite stretched, and also there are couple of marks associated with general wear and tear. Having had the item valued by professionals, we have set the reserve for the auction based on their estimation.

We have confirmation of this which is available to view in the Club Shop at the ground. The reserve price will not be revealed, nor will we accept any offers on the shirt to end the auction early. If you would like any further information regarding the shirt, or would like to view it, please contact us first to arrange a suitable time.
