David Platt Tournament Issue Shirt for World Cup Italia 1990. Shirt Details: This is one of the few shirts issued to David Platt for the 1990 World Cup in Italy. The three lions crest and Umbro logo are embroidered into the shirt as are the tournament details below the badge. Platt’s squad number 17 is red felt and has been heat pressed onto the back of the shirt.
The shirt comes with a letter of authenticity from a current employee of the FA who worked on the tournament and was presented with the shirt afterwards. The shirt also comes with the official tournament programme and a signed mounted picture of Platt. As the shirt is issued and unworn the condition is excellect. The only flaw is a very small slit (aprox 0.25-0.5 cms) in the material half way down the front on the left. The size of the shirt is 97/102 cms (Adult Medium/Large).

Tournament Details:
England reached the semi finals of Italia 90 only to lose to eventual winners West Germany on penalties. This was the tournament that really catapulted David Platt to stardom. He scored 3 goals including the last minute extra time goal against Belgium sending England to the quarter finals. He also scored against Cameroon in the quarter finals and Italy in the third place play off. Platt also had an extra time goal disallowed against West Germany and scored the third penalty of the shootout.
