Ajax 85-87 player shirt by Kappa believed to have been issued to or match worn by Mühren between 1985-87.
Mühren rejoined the club he previously played for 1971-74 in the summer of '85 from Manchester United.
Now in his late 30's Mühren still ran the show in the midfield and passed on his wealth of experience to the talented youngsters the side boasted such as van Basten, Rijkaard, Winter, de Wit and van't Schip now in the latter stages of his stellar career. With van Basten and Bosman unstoppable upfront Ajax claimed a UEFA Cup Winners Cup and KNVB Beker double in 86-87. Mühren went on to play a key role in the famous Euro 88 triumph to extend his incredible trophy haul to the international scene. At club level he is one of only six players who have won all of the international club competitions. This is the first home shirt that Kappa produced for the club in a deal which lasted for 4 years.
