The first meeting saw Juve come back from a Zidane own goal to win 3-1 at the Delle Alpi in November thanks to goals from Conte, Inzaghi and Kovačević and I Bianconeri fell to a 2-0 defeat at the San Siro in March courtesy of a Shevchenko brace. Bachini was an unused substitute for both matches.
