Spain 1988 player shirt by Le Coq Sportif believed to have been match worn by Sanchís in the 1990 World Cup Qualification Group 6 match against Ireland played at Estadio Benito Villamarin, Seville on the 16th November 1988.
The game was Spain's opener to their qualifying campaign for Italia 90 and they secured a 2-0 victory over their main rivals in the group thanks to second half goals from Manolo and Butragueño.
Sanchís played the full match, now a regular at the heart of the defence after starring at Euro 88. Despite losing in Dublin and drawing in Budapest Luis Suarez's men went on to qualify for the Finals in top spot. The Bernabeu icon Sanchís made 48 appearances for Spain in total and spent his entire 18 year club career with Los Blancos.
