Up for auction on Ebay : LIVERPOOL 1987 AWAY CROWN PAINTS - BRAND NEW MEGA RARE
The seller added the following : This item for sale is extremely rare, in the 10 years+ that I have been collecting and trading Liverpool shirts I saw only 2 vintage kits still in their boxes, for those who do not know during the 80s Umbro and Adidas used to sell children’s football kits in boxes, these were well packaged items advertising all of the kits available, I myself received a 1982 Liverpool away kit from my parents as a birthday present and remember these boxed kits vividly.

The first thing that happened to 99.9% of these boxes is that they were ripped apart and thrown away when the item was purchased, very few were ever saves as there wasn’t a market for collecting football kits back then.
However I recently learnt of a sports shop that was closing down after 42 years of independent trading due to the owners ill health, on contacting this shop I found they had a variety of vintage items in their stock room including some original boxed kits from the 80's. These really are so rare it's hard to describe, the true collectors of you will understand how rarely these items come up for sale.
The item being sold here is a 1987 away kit that includes Shirt, Shorts and Socks, I must stress this is an original find of 1987 stock, not a modern remake, the item is mint having never been worn, probably the first time it was opened was when I found it, 21 years after being delivered to the sports shop!!
What makes this even rarer is this is the away shirt with the Crown Paints sponsors logo in white instead of red, after just one season this shirt was discontinued to the same type of shirt but with Crown Paints displayed in a red colour so that it could be seen easier on the TV than the white logo.
The size is Boys 30/32 with 26/28 shorts. I sold a similar one recently on eBay, however I was going to keep this one for myself, the box is amazing, not as creased as the other one I sold, this box is sharp and in fantastic solid condition, doesnt look 2 years old, let alone 21 years, found in one of Liverpool's most iconic kit it really is amongst the rarest item you will ever see!!
If the last one I sold was a 7/8 out of 10 then this is a 9.8!, It's the very last one of these, once gone it's gone!!!
How often do you see one of Liverpool's most iconic kits from the early 80's brand new, in its original bag having never been owned, let alone worn!
