Lotto 1992 Holland Match Issue European Championship Home Shirt

Holland 1992 player shirt by Lotto believed to have been prepared for and issued to van Aerle for Euro 92 in Sweden.

The veteran right back had played every match four years ago when the side famously triumphed at Euro '88. The PSV legend played in two matches here as the side attempted to defend their title, a 1-0 victory over Scotland and a 0-0 draw with CIS which sealed their place in the Semi Finals as group winners.

van Aerle wore a short sleeve shirt in both games and this is his long sleeved spare from the tournament. Unfortunately Rinus Michels' great team were shocked by Denmark on penalties in the next round and van Aerle himself played only two more international matches after the Finals before hanging up his boots at the end of '92 with 35 caps to his name.
