Puma 1997-98 Metz Match Issue UEFA Cup Home Shirt

FC Metz 1997-98 player shirt by Puma believed to have been issued to Bombarda for the 1996-97 UEFA Cup campaign and was swapped following one of the Third Round ties with Newcastle United.

Metz players wore shirts without their names on the back only in the First Round matches against Tirol Innsbruck, after this stage names were added to the shirts.

The new signing from FC Groningen Bombarda played in the 1st leg against the Austrians who were defeated 1-0 on aggregate. Les Grenats saw off Sporting Lisbon in the next round before being edged out by Newcastle United at St James' Park.
