Auxerre 1993-94 player shirt by Uhlsport believed to have been match worn by Verlaat in the UEFA Cup 1st Round 1st leg match against Tenerife played Estadio Heliodoro Rodríguez López on the 15th September 1993.
Verlaat played the full 90 minutes of an entertaining encounter that finished in a 2-2 draw. Vahirua put the visitors ahead and although it was soon cancelled out by a Pinilla penalty the lead was restored just two minutes later by Saib.

AJA returned to France seemingly in a strong position thanks to the two away goals but the La Liga outfit pulled off a shock by winning 1-0 to progress to the next round at their expense. This great stand-out design was also used in the 92-93 UEFA Cup campaign but with a Commodore sponsor when the side went all the way to the Semi Finals. Verlaat spent 3 years at the Stade de l'Abbé-Deschamps after signing from Lausanne in '92 and made over 100 league appearances in this time for the club.
