Northern Ireland had lost out 1-0 to England in their opening game in contentious circumstances with the Three Lion's winner debatable due to a handball in the build-up and an offside call.
Especially after George Best had an earlier goal chalked off after he famously kicked the ball out of Gordon Banks' hands. Best was on top form dazzling again here in Glasgow and the side managed a 1-0 win here thanks to a 14th minute John Greig own goal. O'Kane played the full match at the back picking up his 5th cap. Terry Neill's men went on to beat Wales in their final match but the England defeat ultimately proved costly. O'Kane struggled with injuries and was forced to retire at the age of only 28 in '76 but did manage to represent his country 20 times in total.
