The defender did not make an appearance at Spain though and the last match he played in for his country came in the British Home Championship against England at Hampden Park. This design was worn throughout 1982 until 1985 and this shirt is thought to be from a game where Burley was an unused substitute. Burley started his career at Portman Road and spent and spent 12 years with the Tractor Boys going on to successfully manage them and eventually take over the reigns of the Scotland team in 2008-09.
