Scotland 1982 player shirt by Umbro believed to have been issued to or match worn by Gillespie in an U-21 international in 1982.
Gillespie had been called-up by the U-21's back September '78 aged just 18 following his transfer to Coventry City from Falkirk.
The defender returned to the side in 1980 and made seven appearances more in the next couple of years, including three in '82 when this new kit was released. Gillespie went on to win 13 senior caps and go to the 1990 World Cup. At club level he became a stalwart of the Liverpool defence for much of the 80's.
