Celtic 1984 player shirt by Umbro believed to have been match worn in the Lou Macari Testimonial match against Manchester United played at Old Trafford on the 13th May 1984.
Macari started his career at Parkhead where he was one of the 'Quality Street Gang' winning four league titles and showing prolific form in the early 70's.
The hotshot was snapped up by United for £200K in '73 and went on to spend over a decade at the club and was a huge fan favourite. It was only correct that his testimonial match could between his two loves and over 15,000 Bhoys fans travelled south to watch their former hero. Macari played the first half for the Red Devils and the second for Celtic in a match that ended 1-1 with Graham on target for the hosts with Burns finding an equaliser in the 79th minute. It was the first Old Trafford sell-out testimonial since Bobby Charlton's in '72 and supposedly netted Macari an £85K payday.
