Umbro 1988-89 Leeds United Match Issue Home Shirt

Leeds United 1988-89 player shirt by Umbro believed to have been issued to or match worn by a #4 during the campaign the side finished 10th in Division 2 under new manager Howard Wilkinson, who sew the seeds for the promotion winning side of the following season installing discipline in the dressing room.

Regular #4 Paul Aizlewood infamously flashed a 'V' sign to Leeds supporters after scoring against Walsall having being jeered by his own fans and Wilkinson quickly reacted, substituting him for David Batty which Aizlewood didn't take kindly too, storming off to the dressing room and refusing a seat on the bench.
