Ajax 1992 player shirt by Umbro believed to have been issued to van Loen for the UEFA Cup Final 1st leg against Torino played at the Stadio delle Alpi on the 29th April '92.
The kings of the European Cup in the early 70's Ajax had added a Cup Winners Cup to their honours sheet in 1987 but still required the UEFA Cup crown for the full set.
And Louis van Gaal's highly talented side would go on to achieve that thanks to an away goals triumph over Torino after a hard fought 180 minutes of action. The 1st leg was a classic at the Delle Alpi finishing 2-2 as the hosts came from behind twice. The 2nd leg was an agonising affair and Ajax survived to secure a 0-0 draw despite the visitors hitting the post and bar. van Loen started both matches on the bench, the striker was #13 for the 1st leg and #15 for the 2nd leg. The home shirt was used in both games so this away version is only a spare.
