Umbro 1996-97 Nottingham Forest Match Issue Umbro Cup Away Shirt

Nottingham Forest 96/97 player shirt by Umbro believed to have been issued to or match worn by Roy in the 1996 Umbro Cup which was held at the City Ground in August 1996.

This yellow away kit was worn against Manchester United in the 3rd place match on the 4th August after the side had lost out to Chelsea the day before on penalties.

Forest took the lead after 10 minutes through Kevin Campbell and led for most of the match until the visitors turned on the style in the final 10 minutes to turn the game on its head and win 3-1 with Beckham, McClair and Phil Neville on target. This would be Roy's third and final season for the club, he moved on to the Bundesliga with Hertha Berlin the following summer after being limited to only 24 appearances in this campaign.
