Ireland 1996 player shirt by Umbro believed to have been match worn by Phelan in the friendly match against Holland played at de Kuip, Rotterdam on the 4th June 1996.
Phelan played the full match as the Dutch had wrapped up a 3-1 victory. Ireland had taken a surprise lead through Gary Breen but Dennis Bergkamp had levelled matters before half-time.
It was Seedorf and Cocu who were on hand to get the goals for the hosts who were playing their last game before heading off to Euro 96. The former Wimbledon and Man City star Phelan had made his international debut in '91 and went on to make 42 appearances for his country, playing at the 1994 World Cup.
