A scouring of Twitter has unearthed Jimmy from The Glove Bag bringing to light some glorious football kit marketing from nearly three decades ago.
The images from the Replica World catalogue feature some wonderful Umbro designs for the 1991-92 season. This pivotal moment - a year prior to the English Premier League’s kick-off - sees, amongst other things, the shift between short shorts and a return to the longer variety, with both on display in these pages (it was still a time when year-old releases carried over for a second campaign).
Loud Away and Goalkeeper designs for Scotland, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton share the stage with classy Home offerings for the likes of Lazio and Ajax. And whilst the excessively branded Spurs - SPURS - Third kit from that season is missing in action, there’s a shot of the Amsterdam club’s green and yellow Away shirt’s similarly-styled back.
As a bonus, Jimmy’s also included the Admiral spread, with Rangers, Hearts and Southampton kits assisting in taking us back to a lost era.
Thanks to Jimmy from The Glove Bag - tgbjimmy on Twitter - for bringing this to our attention.
