Recently selling at auction for a hefty £1300, this long-sleeved Ipswich Town shirt is a great example of classic adidas design.
With the famous sleeve and shoulder stripes contrasting against the blue, jacquard’d base, the design represents a golden age for the German manufacturer, and this substitute’s shirt - with number 14 on the reverse - holds huge significance for Tractor Boys fans too.
Boasting a player-specification, fully embroidered centenary-season (1988-89) crest, the shirt was never likely to be constrained by its £150-250 estimate, but fetching around six times that will have raised plenty of eyebrows.
