This adidas Northern Ireland Away shirt, with “SPAIN WORLD CUP FINALS 1982” embroidery below the fully embroidered crest, recently went on sale at auction.
Carrying the number 16 of record-breakingly young Spain ‘82 squad member Norman Whiteside, the white design with green pinstripes is the version worn in the famous victory against the hosts at said mundial.
Unsurprisingly, the closing bid of £7,500 was well in excess of the £4,000-6,000 estimate.
