German side 1. FC Köln yesterday - Sunday 2nd November 2014 - in their match against Freiburg, wore a special kit, by Erima, celebrating the famous Cologne carnival.
The shirt, also being retailed, is in the standard white with red, but this time the white body is complemented with vertical stripes on the sides, with gold detailing, and red sleeves. There is also a watermark of further flourishes, all as a tribute to the Carnival Prince, the leader of carnival week's main parades. The collar and cuffs also have gold trim and the Erima logo and standard crest sandwich the city coat of arms above the Rewe club sponsor logo.
The embellishing watermark also continues onto the special edition red shorts, also trimmed in gold, with standard socks being used to complete the celebratory effect.
