Giants of Brazilian football Vasco da Gama yesterday wore a "Respeito e Diversidade” - respect and diversity - shirt in their Brasileiro Série B victory over Brusque.
The shirt’s adaptation of the traditional change colours saw the iconic sash, which bisects the white base, become a graduated representation of the LGBT pride movement’s famous rainbow flag - the gesture carried out as part of Pride Month.
The shirt, otherwise similar to the current Away shirt - Kappa branding and trim in black and the famous cross-styled crest in red - was worn with white shorts and black and white hooped socks.
