Over on FSC's sister site DesignFootball.com, the Kit of the Week challenge is currently centred on the Canadian national team, with this entry by member TRIDENTE a great example of the standard.
With a stylisation of concentric maple leaves acting as a grain for the base, the shirt sees the deployment of Umbro’s timeless and restrained hallmarks to form an attractive whole.
For some, the iconic diamond taping along the shoulders, sleeves and sides of the trunk may seem like overkill as an idea, but it somehow works. As does the inclusion of a Marmite-reputationed lace-up neck - a nod to similar being historically sported by Canada’s world famous ice hockey teams.
This Canada-themed regeneration of “KOTW” closes to new entries on Sunday, with the quality of those already uploaded outstanding. Will TRIDENTE come out on top, or are we yet to see the victor?
