England 2022-23 Nike Away Kit

This is the new England Away shirt for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

In “Challenge Red” with “Blue Void” and “Blue Fury”, the 2022-23 Nike design for the Three Lions seemingly nods heavily to the Umbro primary-change release taken to the Italia ’90 World Cup 32 years ago.

The two tones of blue are used in tandem on the crest, the US manufacturer’s “Swoosh” logo and the collar, while the cuffs and the inserts on the hem are just in the darker shade.

The shirt, which includes an elaborate, performance technology-filled jacquard/knit, will be combined, if called upon, with red shorts and socks to form a nominally single-coloured kit.

Probably could have bought this from a seaside vendor on holiday in the late 1990s. Sad and out dated. Horrid fit.

Looks just like the cheap market knock offs of the 1990 WC shirts you could get back in 1990.

You obviously don't have a best recall of 1990. There were no kits that looked even remotely like that.

@JB @JB Sorry, you're right. Completely different. Silly me. I mean the way they've removed the one interesting design element from the original shirt, and got around infringing Umbro's IP by turning the diamonds into lines is super innovative (unless you count pretty much every market stall knock off from the time).

I will try a little harder. Now if only Nike would too 😉

@MNT Everyone else thinks of this shirt when they see this new one. It's quite clearly inspired by this shirt. To say there were no shirts remotely like this is ridiculous.

@MNT It's red, but the collar is nothing like it. Try a little harder.

Absolutely taking the piss, for the £75 that the cheapest version of this costs you should expect the details on the shirt to be included the same as what the players wear on the pitch (like what happened up until recently) and not this. Utter rip off. Will stick to my original 1990 shirts.
