This was the lethal defender's first season in Italy after signing from Red Star Belgrade where he was part of the famous 1991 European Cup winning side. He immediately looked at home in Serie A and made 41 appearances in all competitions, showing off his spectacular left foot with 7 goals. The Giallorossi came 10th in Serie A and reached the Coppa Italia Final wearing this superb Adidas design kit. Mihajlovic went on to spend the rest of his career in Serie A, starring for Sampdoria, rivals Lazio and Inter, earning a reptuation as one of the game's best free-kick takers.
