This was the first outing for the home shirt at the tournament and sadly it proved to be its last in the most unfortunate of circumstances. The match finished in a 0-0 stalemate, over in Washington Mexico and Italy drew 1-1 which tied all four teams on the same points and goal difference for the first and only time in World Cup history. Norway went out on goals scored. Håland had played the first two games but picked up a yellow card on each occasion and therefore missed this clash through suspension. Already a Premier League star Håland went on to play for Leeds United and Manchester City but is most well known for his infamous clash with Roy Keane.
