Barcelona 1995-96 player shirt by Kappa believed to have been match worn by Sergi in the UEFA Cup Quarter Final 1st leg against PSV Eindhoven played at the Nou Camp on the 5th March 1996.
Barca had defeated Hapoël Be'er-Sheva, Vitória Guimarães and La Liga rivals Sevilla to reach this stage of the competition in their first UEFA Cup run since 87-88.
The side had to twice come from behind on home soil against the Dutch giants with Luc Nilis on fire for the visitors. The captain Bakero and defender Abelardo scored the equalisers with Johan Cruyff's men giving themselves a lot of work to do in Eindhoven if they were to go on to the Semi's. Sergi played the full match having established himself as the club's first choice left back since graduating La Masia in '93. The Blaugrana would turn on the style in Holland and Sergi would be the hero scoring the winner to make it 3-2 on the night in the 2nd leg. Bayern Munich would prove too stern a test in the next round though and the quest for a first UEFA Cup Final appearance since 1966 was over. Sergi went on to spend 9 years at the Nou Camp and also won 56 caps for Spain going to 4 major international tournaments.
