Ajax showed what they were all about here and got themselves the victory thanks to second half goals from Ronald de Boer and Litmanen. Milan were the experienced campaigners and Ajax were the youthful contenders, both sides played in their home kits for this match and then in the reverse fixture at San Siro they wore their away kits. Stroppa joined the action as a 64th minute substitute for Alessandro Orlando. The match at the San Siro would be another 2-0 victory for Ajax and in the Final in Vienna one goal would be enough for the Dutch giants to take the trophy. Stroppa returned to the San Siro for 94-95 after four years away with Lazio and Foggia where his form saw him win 4 caps for the Azzurri but he made only 19 appearances in this campaign before being sold to Udinese for 95-96. Milan wore three different versions of Champions League patch in this season as UEFA struggled to decide what they favoure.
