Ajax 1996-97 player shirt by Umbro believed to have been issued to Reuser for the 1996-97 Champions League campaign.
This design was used in wins at Auxerre and Grasshoppers in the group stages and a dramatic extra-time victory in the Vicente Calderon against Atletico Madrid which took the side through to the Semi Finals.
Reuser came through the club's prolific youth system in 93-94 and got some first team opportunities in this season making 22 appearances in all competitions and featuring three times in the Champions League. Unfortunately Louis van Gaal's great Ajax team couldn't make it three consecutive Champions League Final's this year, again suffering defeat the hands of Juventus. Reuser did not quite make the grade at the Amsterdam ArenA but did later prove to be a success in the Premier League with Ipswich Town.
