1991/92 Replica World Catalogue Pages

1991/92 Replica World Catalogue Pages #adidasfootball #umbro

A lot is made of Tottenham Hotspur being the first team to wear jarringly long shorts in the 1990s, but as these 1991-92 season “Replica World” catalogue pages demonstrate, this was purely by virtue of Spurs wearing a kit from Umbro’s new range early, in the 1990-91 season’s FA Cup Final.

Manchester City, Chelsea, Luton and Sheffield United shorts pictured here - amongst others - were similarly lengthy, as were Spurs’ own yellow Away examples, albeit worn a little tightly in these images.

Little did we know that the north London side would call upon that Away kit for an incredible four seasons - even seeing it sported by German legend Jurgen Klinsmann at the end of its lifespan!

Also on show are adidas collections for Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal - Bruised Banana klaxon! - and graphic-heavy goalkeeper kits being modelled as awkwardly as you could ever imagine.

Thanks to Jimmy from The Glove Bag - tgbjimmy on Twitter - for bringing this to our attention.

Yes! I remember these all too well. I couldn't wait to look at these types of pages over when I was younger, absorbing every little detail and taking them into School to show my friends the latest kits.  I miss it so much.
