This Liverpool FC shirt from the League and European Cup Double-winning 1976-77 season recently sold for £3200 at auction - outstripping the £2500-2700 estimate.
Once being in the possession Liverpool hard man and legend Tommy Smith - the number 4 he virtually made his own remains neatly stitched on the reverse - the long-sleeved shirt boasts, embroidered, and both in gold, the famous Liver Bird crest and oversized Umbro logo, with contrast white V-neck and cuffs.
Smith actually scored one of the Reds’ goals in the Rome showpiece which elevated Liverpool to Champions of Europe for the first time, and he played a pivotal role wearing this style of shirt in his side’s capture of domestic glory too.
