Fans turned out en masse to witness Graeme Sharp, Everton’s record post-war goal scorer, unveil both the famous Dixie Dean statue and Jack Rodwell, one of the most exciting prospects in the Premier League, wearing the innovative new strip.
Commenting on the new kit, Everton’s rising star Rodwell, said: “The lads really like the new kit. I like the fact it’s simple and stylish. Hopefully it will prove lucky for us and we will have lots of success wearing it next season.”

The Le Coq Sportif strip, which is described as ‘an evolution of the traditional Everton royal blue colour, was a big hit with Everton supporters on the night.
Everton will wear their new colours for the first time on 10 July, when they face Sydney FC during the first-team squad’s pre-season tour of Australia. In addition to the fixture against Sydney FC, the Blues will play two other games while ‘Down Under’, against Melbourne Heart on 14 July and Brisbane Roar on 17 July.
