Le Coq Sportif 1989 Spain Match Worn Home Shirt

Spain 1989 player shirt by Le Coq Sportif believed to have been match worn by Chendo in the 1990 World Cup Qualification Group 6 match against Northern Ireland played at Windsor Park, Belfast on the 8th February '89.

Spain won the match 2-0 with both goals coming from corners one at the beggining of the game and one right at the end. Andrinúa put the visitors ahead after only 3 minutes and substitute Manolo wrapped things up with a second 5 minutes from full-time.

It was an important win and maintained Spain's perfect start to the campaign but they still had to face the Republic of Ireland in Dublin. The one club man Chendo started the match at right back but had to go off injured just before half-time. The defender made his Bernabeu debut in 1982 and spent 16 years with Los Blancos while representing Spain 26 times in total and going to both Euro 88 and Italia 90.
